How Can breathlessness, Body Pain And Headache Be Treated?

I have been sick for 8 days. Started with achy body and lethargy. Then headache, fever and hard to breath. The morning I went to the hospital I was vomiting and diarrhea and was diagnosed with Pneumonia. During the last 6 or 7 days I could not eat but forced Metamucil and digestive biscuits in order to take ibuprofen as I have a sensitive stomach. But for at least 4 or 5 days my abdomen has been bloated out. And strangely have gained 3 pounds. I would appreciate ideas. By the way I had just recently come back from Mexico. Thank You!

Hello,

The symptoms you describe go well with the diagnosis of pneumonia and I think you should have taken the proper treatment in hospital for this.
Normally you don't expect changes with weight with pneumonia or probably you expect weight loss but 3 pounds of difference is not a much difference and can be explained with you being less active and using less calories then normal day and also the infusions sometimes might be in abundance and cause you to weigh a little more.

The abdomen might be bloated as you are having vomiting and diarrhea which means the infection is affecting your body and also the gastrointestinal system and also some of the medications used for pneumonia may affect the bowel and the stomach and cause side effects related to them.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,

Antoneta Zotaj
